Oh and by the way the two puppies shown were owned by a man from Wisconsin not Teri ,who picked them up Thursday afternoon - this was relayed to me by the staff at the Humane League. It seems
there are some people on here that are trying to stir up things and putting out misinformation.
Like most of us my main interest was in the two puppies and if they were going up for adoption - case closed on that one.

And even though I have a personal beef with the Lancaster Humane League because of their past policies on euthanizing healthy pets I must say they are going full steam a head on trying to find homes for these dogs. They have no dogs under the age of 1 year and most of the purebreds look to be in the older range, and there are a lot of Chow mixes ... some not too pretty.

And what I could see through the curtain, cages were stacked pretty much the same way Teri did it one on top of another, not much they can really do about that. This whole process will probably take weeks

I wanted to thank you for reporting on this truly sad story. My family and I live in Wilmington, Delaware and have raised two chows over the past 15 years. We lost our youngest 3 years ago, and our oldest less than 2 weeks ago at the ripe old age of 15. The lost of LingLing was devestating to us and the last 2 weeks have been so painful.

When we heard of the 90 chows at the rescue, we made a family trip to Lancaster Sunday afternoon. After spending a few hours at The Humane League with their wonderful staff, we were so surprised, even after enduring such horrific conditions, the general good nature of the Chows. In fact, we fell in love with one of the 90 chows. She was eerily a younger spitting image of my Chow we just lost. Needless to say, we ADOPTED HER!!

This is the first animal I've ever adopted from a shelter/rescue. My two previous dogs were bought as puppies through commercial means. I am ashamed to say that I previously would never consider adopting a dog through a shelter/rescue. My stigmas with the health/condition of the dog as well as the mental baggage the dog may carry far outweighed my altruistic good willed intention to help a dog in need. Having said that, I can tell you that we have never felt more fulfilled and happy adopting our newest member of our family. Not only have we helped one of the 90 Chows to hopefully find a happier and more comfortble life away from what must have been hell before being rescued, but she has helped us laugh, smile, and love again.

Thank you so much for reporting this. I truly want to encourage anyone reading this and is contemplating bring a dog into your family, to consider going to The Humane League in Lancaster. They have handled the situation superbly along with neighboring shelters, BUT bringing 90 Chows into the system is overwhelming and probably near to immpossible to find that many people to take them in under normal circumstances. I had my reservations and impressions of what to expect given the situation. I am so glad I made the trip out to Lancaster. It truly changed our lives!

Are you the one that adopted Tina? A friend and I were there grooming some of the Chows and she is one we did. Later that day they told me she had been adopted. She is a loving Chow Chow. She was in pretty bad shape but we were able to save most of her coat.

The shelter is doing a wonderful job. They are very friendly and care about what happens to these Chows.
