Wow - you want the government to take our money and think they will use it to improve our lives?

Now who do we hope is kidding?

Now THAT'S good ol' Lancaster County thinkin'...don't spend money and improve our lives, just give me some back. Oh yes, that's the way to progress.

I sure hope you were kidding.

I'm sure, from the tone of jackooboy's other posts, that he(?) was not kidding.

You know, it's just as easy to deride you for your apparent knee-jerk assumption that the government knows better what to do with your money than you do. Frankly, I find that sort of mindset to be deeply misguided.

WHOA!

Misread..misread!

No way am I saying hand over the money and let the good ol boys spend it any way they want. I never said that, although two people were ready to assume that just because I said no to a tax cut.

I'm simply stating a fact. I've lived in Lancaster County for many years and all I ever hear and see is how "tight" we can be. We squeak so much they can hear us in the next county. What we need are government officials who have a keen sense for the future and fiscally sound policies to get us there. A multi-million dollar building for recreational use? When our streets, roads and sewer systems need attention? When traffic congestion is making it all but impossible to get from point a to point b anymore? When asphalt and concrete are growing faster than our lawns?

No, we need the money spent on the right things...by competent leaders with creative solutions.

How bout' a TAX CUT!!!!!!! Don't waste money, give it back to the people!

Yeah right .... $31,000,000.00 cash in the Manheim Township kitty received from selling off the townships' sewer system.

My thoughts ramble when I picture those three "progressive" free-thinking Township Commissioners; Ritter, Bledsoe and Smith ... Ever try to take raw meat from a junkyard dog while they're eating it? Or better yet, the old saying "burning a hole in their pockets"!

I could swear I posted something here later yesterday. I must be losing my mind.

Anyway, Scorpio, sorry to misinterpret your remarks, though I must admit I still get the same impression from re-reading them.

At least we can agree that the funds the government collects from us must be spent wisely.
