So, current Police union guidelines prevent local officers from learning "first responder" skills, unless it is accompanied by a pay raise! Therefore the Bordens, and any other adults or students who find themselves being shot must wait for the arrival of the "Tactical Response Team", which typically takes 2+ hours. Unless we want to pay the officers more money.

Thank you for the clarification. And all along, I thought it was just bad Police Department policy. But it's really just normal union guidelines. I guess the thousands of other Police Departments around the country who will respond to active shooters with Patrol assets just have weak union representation, or are paid more than our Police.

Are Lancaster County Police badly underpaid now? How much more pay would it take to get them to learn first responder skills to protect little children being murdered in a school? Would that cost less than adults in their own home? Or are children and adults who are being murdered on the same pay increase scale? Am I the only person outraged about this?

No you are not. I too questioned the amount of time that lapsed before anyone even bothered to check on the victims. FAWC, people have been known to survive head shots.

I give up... call the DA and make a formal complaint.. see what answers yo get.

If your asking why the DA? He is the head law enforcement officer for the county.

Wow, yelling doesn't make what you say anymore important. FWIW, I could care less if they had left their brains ooze into the foundation. I was just pointing out the fact that the 2 hour delay might have been the difference between a murder charge and an attempted murder charge.

Ouch ... my ears hurt, no need to yell.

Nothing here of interest or concern for the DA. If lackluster government provided services were a real crime, we would need a lot of new jail cells!

The real crime is voters not paying attention to what their elected officials are, and are not doing with public money, and making them accountable for poor decisions and lackluster performance.
