As far-fetched as it sounds, there is some very, very smart money behind this proposal. I gladly bet on them and would love to invest in this one. Furthermore, the odds for the license are 50%, 4 bidders as of now for 2 licenses. Don't be surprised to be arm and arm with me by the poker machines sometime next year.

10% chance at best, It don't matter if the people behind this are freaken geniuses the political powers are forming ranks…..10% chance and no more! Or to look at it another way it has a much chance as you do of winning any money!

You'll have to keep scratching those dumb !profanity! tickets…..good luck!

If the Commission grants the licenses,no local authority has power to stop it.It`s written into the States slots law. They don`t need zoning or any other ok.

I am actually not a slot player. I prefer to play poker where there is no house advantage other than the rake. As for being dumb, Welkowitz is anything but. There is nobody, High included, that has a better real estate track record in this County. They had to know to expect the resistance from the talking heads. Guaranteed...by no means. Better than 10%...absolutely. I would still invest and I don't play the sratch games.

"If it gets the go-ahead, the group also is considering building an overhead moving sidewalk connecting the proposed hotel/convention center on Penn Square with the Bulova Building.

Nettleton said he had not yet discussed the moving sidewalk proposal with the developers of the hotel and convention center."

Could someone please explain this idea?

Kate
Having taken some community and regional planning classes... an elevated sidewalk would probably not be as good as having people walk along the street so they could see storefronts on their way to and from the proposed casino.
