It would be nice if MT would cooperate with EHT.

"But the bottom line is, it's a Manheim Township decision."

What about all the traffic created by EHT's rezoning of farmland for LGH ? That's got to be at least 15,000 car trips per day. Many more trips per day will be added to the mix as that area is quickly built-out by the all powerful (non-tax-paying) LGH.

With an assessed value of more than $100,000,000, LGH is, by far, the township's largest taxpayer. (Because they lease space to for profit practices, the building is, and has always been, taxable)

Are you sure about that ?

Payment of Property Taxes
All properties within the city and county owned by LGH and its affiliates (excluding the main hospital campus on Duke Street and Women & Babies Hospital) are fully maintained on the tax rolls – even when such properties are used to further our charitable mission, rendering them legally tax-exempt. This ensures that Lancaster General pays more than $1.24 million in additional tax revenue that is then provided to several local municipalities and school districts.

EHT: $ 41,000.00
Hempfield SD: $507,000.00
LGH Community Benefit to EHT: $548,000.00 (FALL REPORT 2006)

These are the taxes for the Health Campus. This makes them by far the largest EHT taxpayer.

They could pay a lot more. Got Hospital Bed Tax ?

It looks like they are paying EHT/HSD the equivalent of an assessed $33.5 million in residential property. Is that correct ?
($548,000/.016168)

My dimwit point was that the LGH Monster Health Campus creates as much daily traffic as does Dale's new shopping center. EHT Govt. officials are going to approve another new substantial traffic-generator on Harrisburg Pike (Independence). The 600,000 square ft. of commercial/retail (TARGET) is going to be built first. That's the same kind of traffic numbers to be added to Harrisburg Pike as Dale's. EHT Govt officials are doing their best to create an urban environment for their residents.

Farmingdale Road residents may be concerned, but there is nothing that EHT government officials will do for them now. It's too late. Farmingdale road will be used as a short-cut / access to Dale's new shopping center. That road will also be used for access to the new NS rail yard and the new County Morgue. It is the quickest way to get from Harrisburg Pike to Marietta Ave. Good Drive will gridlock when the new lights are installed for LGH.

I don't think that anyone from EHT Govt. was at last night's Manor Twp. Planning meeting for the new Centerville Road Wal-Mart. I guess the officials are not concerned about that traffic. Got gridlocked urban environment ?
