Great idea to not take Christianity out of public life. Why would anyone do so when the U.S. claims to be a free country? Yet there are plenty of people who try.

Good point, no reasonable person would, and in a free country like the US with rights protected by law and a Constitution there should be no reason to bring a speaker to a conservative and religous strong hold like Lancaster to preach to people here about censoring Christianity out of public life.
Yet bring them here to preach they do, year after year, by the truck load it seems. Why is that?
One word - fear.
To control these religious people they need to keep them in fear that something they hold very dear, their religion, might be taken away from them by.....those "others". Liberals, the elite, non-Christians, democrats, terrorists, who ever the bogey man de jour is...just keep em scared.
That way they'll show up at the polls to vote for all of the politicians who turn out to be seen and have their names in the paper so all the churches (i.e., republican voting machines) know they were there.

i think those who stand up and announce their christianity to the world should abide by the teachings of the guy they claim to follow.

I absolutely positively agree.

Personally, IMHO, I believe that when they did away with the Lions' and Christians' thing, a great disservice was perpetrated upon the masses. Just my opinion, mind you.
