The "auditors" for E.Hempf. signed the statement that the then finance director gave them in order for him to send the audit to the state. Unfortunately it didn't get to the state. the finance director left the twp. for a job in another township. Was it a lousy thing to do to the twp,? You bet, but it doesn't mean anything illegal was going on.
Unfortunately it didn't get to the state? Or did it conveniently end up in a certain Supervisor's desk drawer at his state office when he worked for the state?
We'll give the benefit of the doubt that nothing illegal was going on, eventhough someting like 9 or 10 people have resigned in the Twp in the last 2-1/2 years. Eventhough there is now this AG criminal investigation, eventhough we know that lots of $$ disappeared at 4 Seasons, eventhough we know that there were significant PLCB violations at the banquet hall, eventhough we know that there was either a sweetheart deal or a deal made from complete ignorance with the caterer to operate at the banquet hall, eventhough there is evidence mounting of Code enforcement errors and nonsense at Village Grande between the Twp and the builder, eventhough there is evidence of records missing at the Twp (how convenient--shredder, anyone??).
How much farther do we need to go here?

A regular audit would have proven the same thing the 100K forensic audit did. The forensic auditor gave his report and there wasn't any misappropriation, fraud, or corruption. The twp. golf course had some sticky fingers in the cash drawer but no more than any other business. I believe it was somewhere in the $200 to $400 dollar range. Unfortunately here were some issues that always come with hiring part timers and teenagers. the forensic firm gave some added safeguards and other advice for minimizing problems. But I noticed that Wheatons website still lists waste and fraud as issues that were found at the golf course. Its irresponsible for her to claim fraud when none was found.
The published report on the forensic audit looked like a whitewash. It was discussed that there were numerous thousands of dollars of revenue either missing or not realized due to free, discount, stolen, you name it rounds of golf. That's more than $200-$400.

Then last year when she tried to run in the primary for senate, I was one of the "lucky" people that got a letter from her in the mail saying the there was hundreds of thousands of dollars of losses at the golf course. As my grandmother used to say "Horse Hockey"!
All true--unless you don't want to count the mortgage. Last time I checked, that counts as a debit on the ledger. And the debits have far outweighed the credits on this golf course year after year--mortgage or no mortgage.

I for one am sick and tired of Wheaton trying to make a laughing stock of the township that I live in simply because she wants to get elected to something - ANYTHING!
This Twp made a laughingstock of itself without Wheaton. She has saved us from worse embarassment.
You really are an apologist for the entrenched bureauracy of this Twp. Nice try. You've shown yourself for who and what you really are.
