I was at today's Lancaster County Commissioners meeting where this was discussed. The handout makes this proposal seem reasonable.

It is truly refreshing to see how efficient and effective the County Commissioners are without Pete Shaub's constant troublemaking. Molly Henderson, Dick Shellenberger, and Sharron Nelson were both professional and personable in their conduct of the meeting. It's too bad the local media REFUSES to provide an accurate portrayal of how well the Court House is being run without Pete Shaub around.

Unfortunately, there were three troublemakers, who I understand attend most County meetings. Bill Bonanno - as usual - tried repeatedly to make a fool out of the Commissioners, instead making a fool of himself (as usual); all he managed to succeed at doing was prove that he doesn't have a clue about how government works (he even accused the YIC director of misusing a "profit" that was clearly marked as a COST). Tony Allen proved several times that his knowledge of government is abysmal for someone who is an elected official. And Charlie Smithgall's mother-in-law launched a venemous, nonsensical attack against the County Commissioners that had no connection to reality whatsoever.

It is important to remember when County Commissioners Scott Martin and Dennis Stuckey are forced to raise taxes because of the actions of former County Commissioners Paul Thibault, Terry Kauffman, Ron Ford, and Pete Shaub, that Molly Henderson and Dick Shellenberger did everything humanly possible to protect the taxpayers of Lancaster County IN SPITE OF relentless attacks from the politicians, plutocrats, and media.
