This is good news.

The Constitution Party is so conservative that it can make mainstream Republicans look liberal IN COMPARISON. A Constitution Party candidate will primarily take votes away from Jere Swarr, who is presenting himself as an alternative to the Republican candidates (and dropped his Republican registration ONLY so he could run unendorsed).

Stuckey and Martin are likely secure in their positions as front-runners, since so many Lancaster County residents will vote for the endorsed Republican candidates, no matter who they are.

Craig Lehman has two strikes against him: he's employed as a budget analyst by the Pennsylvania House of Representatives, which makes him a certifiable Harrisburg insider. And he's far too liberal for ultra-conservative Lancaster County.

On the other hand, Molly Henderson is a proven fiscal conservative. Time and again she has acted to protect the interests of Lancaster County taxpayers.

The Constitution Party candidate will dilute the conservative vote for Jere Swarr more than enough to deny him the election. This leaves an open door for the centrists and moderates to re-elect Molly Henderson.

Agreed. There are a significant amount of conservatives who really don't care about incrementally improving government through a gradual swing from left of center back to the right. They fail to realize that moving the political landscape to the right takes time, work and many election cycles.

Folks like Clymer may be good intentioned solid conservatives, but they have no patience for the long term. And hense, their efforts for too much change too fast only guarantee more of the same.

As Jere Swarr's Campaign Manager I can assure you he is running as a true Independent & is not targeting anyone or any party. There are 3 seats he is working to obtain one of them.

Jere did not drop his Republican registration just so he could run unendorsed. Jere registered Independent because he feels it is time that the system change. People are tired of "politics as usual". A lot happened leading up to this decision and it was not an easy one for him

Jim Clymer or any Constitution candidate is more than welcome to enter the race as far as we are concerned. He is an outstanding individual & would make an excellent Commissioner.

I'm sorry, but Jere Swarr told me to my face that he was targeting the Democratic candidates. I have witnesses.

I really find that hard to believe. It had become obvious that Jere Swarr would not get the Republican endorsement.

I had planned to vote for Jere in November. But when he told me he was specifically targeting the Democrats, I had no choice but to change my mind.

I'm not sure how he would specifically target Democrats but the fact is I don't think his campaign has, thus far, targeted anyone specifically nor will it in the future.
