No one said the woman "asked" for it. You are reading way too much into what was said. Lysol and I simply said that women need to look out for themselves and not put themselves into bad situations.

For instance: If you had a daughter, what would you teach her? Would you tell her it's okay to go out alone at any time of night or would you teach her to go with a group and not be out late? Would you teach her to walk down well lit streets or would dark alleys be okay with you? Teaching girls good safety habits will lessen the chances of being raped. That is ALL Lysol and I were trying to say.

It still sounds a lot like the old "boys will be boys" line. I agree that ALL parents should teach their children how to act in situations like these which includes teaching young men to not put themselves in situtations where they could be accused of a sexual assualt.

Are you kidding me Lysol? That is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. So this woman was asking for it - if alcohol was involved OR if there were no other women around? Why should anyone think that - in ANY situation - that "this sort of thing could happen"?

Ridiculous - terrible arguement.

That being said - no one should jump to the conclusion that a rape/sexual assult did happen. Did we learn absolutely nothing from the Duke Lacross debacle?

I never said i agreed with what they did. I simply stated that women need to look out for themselves. There is a primal nature to humans, and most of the time they can control that sort of thing, but like i said when you get alcohol involved that changes things. IN NO WAY AM I SAYING THIS EXCUSES WHAT THEY DID. I'm simply saying that women need to not put themselves in situations like that. Don't dress like a street walker and go to a club and then get pissed off cuz you are getting hit on constantly, you wore that outfit for a reason. Thats all i'm sayin.

You have a very good point, young men should be taught not to put themselves in those situations. It's a lot like male teachers having to be careful about being left alone with female students. Once the accusation is out there, true or not, it will be remembered.

Absolutely. Young women should be taught the warning signals and that certain behaviors might be misconstrued or just plain risky (walking home alone at night after a party in a skimpy outfit while incredibly inebriated, for example). Young men should be taught to understand that "no" means "no" and that they should hang with people who think and act like they do, not like barbarians. Knowing the difference between right and wrong is a good place to start.
