There are already more than enough bicycle races in the U.S., including the Tour of Lancaster, for U.S citizens to perform against international competition.

Thanks, I had a bit of a chuckle with this line. I can see them now passing up on the Tour de France to come to Lancaster! Sorta like asking a NFL player if he'd rather play om a semi-pro sandlot field or the Super Bowl.

Perhaps the United States should give France what it wants, and not send any U.S. citizens to France for bicycle competitions. Since the U.S. obviously isn't welcome in their bicycle races, U.S. citizens would be far better off spending U.S. dollars inside the U.S, supporting our own economy instead of theirs.

I am curious...are we also willing to strip Barry Bonds of the accolades he has been receiving by breaking Hank Aaron's home run record?? How many homers would he have hit if he had not been juiced up on steroids??? And before anyone asks, YES, I do believe that if an athlete accomplishes anything while juiced they should not be rewarded for it. IT SENDS KIDS THE WRONG MESSAGE!!!!!!! I have a son who is a student athlete (football) and he works his butt off to get and stay in top physical condition (no 'roids) So hey, whats good for Landis should be good for Bonds!!!

Bonds is an American who plays in an extremely popular American sport. Landis was a FOREIGNER in France, in a sport few Americans follow but in which Americans have been among the best.

Many Americans care about baseball. Few Americans care about bicycle racing. Had Bonds played as an American for a team in France, I believe he would have been persecuted many years ago.

I couldn't find the article I wanted so I could be wrong about some of this. At the time people claim that Bonds was taking steroids I don't think MLB had yet to officially banned them (thus no testing.) But I do think it was illegal to take HGH and other roids in the U.S. except for health reasons, strange isn't it? One shame of this is most people that follow bb (insiders) knew that when Sosa, McGwire and Bonds were putting up incredible #'s they hid their heads in the sand including MLB. So I don't think much can be done as far as stripping the record away from Bonds. Please don't think that i'm a Bonds fan in fact I hate the jerk not just because of the steroid thing but he's also a arrogant SOB!! As far as breaking the HR record there will always be an asterik next to his name in my mind. Sorry but these things are just not fair some times. Hope all the hard work your son is putting forth brings him a lot of success
