Kirkwood - what's your problem? Sounds like you have an axe to grind with the Amish this morning. First you posted about Amish parents abusing children in a post about a woman that KILLED her two children, now this post. Your ignorance is clearly showing through.

I can think of more instances of careless drivers hitting defenseless horses and Amish buggies than the reverse. I also hope the woman recovers, but this was an accident...no need to start name calling.

BTW, I know political correctness has run amok in our society and I don't like the PC police, but your use of the word "retard" is offensive and shows your ignorance.

This is unfortunate. I've seen horses out on the roads that were too "green" to be out in traffic but it sounds like this was a runaway.
Did I ever tell you about the runaway steer that was being chased and he butted my fender twice? The farmer wasn't Amish so what's your assessment of his intelligence, Kirkwood kid? (Just trying to get a handle on your level of intelligence)

if you are from Kirkwood how smart do you really think this person is

I bet their family tree looks like a phone pole

My prayers go out to Nancy for complete recovery and for her family. Also to the Amishman who was TRYING to get the horse, and who I am sure is struggling to deal with this tragedy. I am sure that his family along with the Amish community will surround Nancy and her family with comfort, prayers and support. Lawsuits rarely solve much, except to earn lawyers more money. Haven't we learned anything from the Amish and their forgiveness and faith?
A dog could run out in front of our car and we could hit a tree - are we going to sue their owner. This happens to bike riders all the time - family pets run out to chase them and they end up injured - should THEY sue?
Let's keep this positive for all those who know the families involved.

Animals collide with vehicles all the time.

BMW convertible meets deer.

(Warning: not for the squeamish)
