• Sat., Oct. 11 & 18 - Manheim Sportsmen's practice trap shoot from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

• Sat.-Sat., Oct. 11-18 - State pheasant season for youth hunters; also early duck season in South Zone, which includes Lancaster County.

• Sun., Oct. 11 - Heidelberg Sportsman's Assoc. cowboy action shoot begins at 10 a.m. Call 949-3108 for details.

• Sun., Oct. 12 & 19 - Mill Creek Sportsmen's big-bore handgun shoot at the club's indoor range, 1877 Windy Hill Road, from noon to 2 p.m. Fee is $15.

• Wed., Oct 15 - Donegal Trout Unlimited October Fest at Four Seasons Golf Club, Landisville at 5:30 PM. Dr. Brian Swistock from Penn State will speak about improving water quality in streams. Cost including dinner is $20. Contact Tim Suloff at 293-1844 to register.

• Fri., Oct. 17 - Mill Creek Sportsmen's turkey raffle from 6:30-9:30 p.m. Donation is $5 per person.
