sadly they will talk about her for a long long time. the solution for her will be to not let other people define her and then it won't matter much.
if she allows the gossips to have authority over her self worth then it could be problematic.

Unfortunately, this is more than likely to be the case. This is why I pray she'll have the inner strength not to let this situation define who she is. However, if she had vulnerabilities this man exploited, she's probably going to have a tough time of getting to the place where she has that inner strength and sense of her own worth.

BeingReal
I am not at work, I was band president of my high school band - over 20 years ago. That makes me OLD, I will be turning 40

I am an administrator in a public school in Lancaster County and I do care about the people involved in this case. As an educator of high school students, I truly love teenagers. As a former bando, I feel bad about the publicity that will result for the band members of Warwick's band.

Part of my job is dealing with dress code violations. Let me tell you, some of these 14-15 year old girls are "loaded" and are not afraid to share. (By the way, I am a married female.)

The people I feel most badly for are the man's wife and young child. The wife must just be humiliated, how does she go about each day. I don't have much to say that has not already been said in this very long thread.

Warwick students - hang in there.

Time to add my 2 cents. I remember another thread just like this one, when a young teenage girl was found to be having a relationship with her coach. The same people chimed in and called that young girl various names, such as slut and whore. The ignorance regarding sexual predators is astounding, and it's obvious from some of these posts, that some people still have the same beliefs. This girl is in no way to blame. I can only pray that she has the support she will need in the coming months and years, to deal with the ignorant people she will surely encounter. From what I understand, some of the band members and other students are crucifying this young girl, because their beloved band teacher is gone. Forget the fact that this disgusting animal is a sexual predator and he seduced a student, let's sit around the school and cry for this pig. For all the parent's on here who feel that this girl is to blame too, I suggest you research the grooming process that sexual predators use to lure teenagers.

For the above poster, I don't think I quite understand your point. A sexual predator is a sexual predator. It doesn't matter what someone is wearing. Why do child molesters molest very young children? Because of the way they dress? No, they do it because they are sick people who have no impulse control.

I hope this girl can find peace and support from the people closest to her and go on to have a happy life. I hope this animal's wife and child move far far away and never have to see or hear from him again. Lastly, I hope this pig rots in jail and is never, ever allowed near young adults or children ever again.

As an administrator in a public school system, I would like you to please tell me and everyone else on this board what 'dress code violations' have to do with the incident in question at Warwick.

Have you not read the postings of fellow band members and friends of the girl involved in this? In other words, people who actually know the girl in question? She did not dress in an inappropriate manner, and guess what....even if she had...SO WHAT?

Someone's idea of 'inappropriate' dress should be considered a green light for an adult teacher (hell, adult period) to become sexually involved with a 16-year-old girl?

Actually, I would like to know just what school district you represent. Whatever it is, I'm damn glad my kids don't go there.

Well, i'm sorry but quite frankly your thoughts on the subject you know only a little about are a little off. At no point have the students stuck up for our ex-band director. We're all disgusted in him just as much as you are. The fact is that he's an incredible director, no one can argue that. He has done great things for this school that can never be forgoton. It's just so frustrating that this talented was wasted when it was attatched to someone as impulsive as him. I just wish someone more worthy could've recieved his gift. I'm sorry, but when did a student post any negative slogens/phrases against this girl on this wall? All I'm saying is that yes, there are members of the band who do hate her for some ignorant reasons, and some with credible rational. What really defignes the attitude of the band, however, is that thoes who are with her are doing much to comfort her. Also, those who are upseat with her don't say anything, they don't inturrupt the atmosphere in the classroom, or anywhere else for that matter, with negative talk.
