"V" you make a good point. We have lived next door to college students who were always very respectful but I think the Mayor is more concerned with the "Greek" atmosphere of partying and drinking parties late into the night. I totally agree about low income renters who care nothing for the property. Maybe Mayor Gray can do something next about slum lords who use section 8 because it guarantees them rent from the government with less responsibility.

vcapecce, we have an elderly family member who lives alone right near across from the college. She has always had nice student neighbors who've helped her with snow removal and other outdoor work and who look out for her as she's coming and going. Her worst neighbors were people who were not students and who were old enough to know how not to cause problems for other people, had they cared.

so, if the students don't live on JAMES STREET..
WHO WILL?

There are beautiful homes all over the city and guess what many are on College Ave and other surrounding homes of the college. The problem is when landlords take over. People who own their homes as thankfully most in our neighborhood do are always good neighbors and well kept homes. It is renters of all kinds that ruin the neighborhood. But as "V" said give me college students before section 8 anytime. However, frat houses and sororities tend to disrupt the neighborhood just as much as multiple childen families do. We have walked the dog past a frat house on a Sunday morning and the trash and disarray is unbelievable.

and tell me what JAMES ST LOOKS TODAY?
CAN I BRING TOURISTS TO THIS AREA TO SEE THE beautiful homes?
and whom or what will invest in this area if F&M is out?
