[quote name='Hope' date='Feb 27 2008, 04:54 PM' post='361447'] Here we go again! Maybe it should be a state law that anyone who wants to be self-employed should take a test to ensure that they understand the risks that they are about to undertake. I see no difference between a woman who comes on this board and tells us that she doesn't work but constantly puts down the welfare moms who don't work either. The way I see it you are worse because you bitch about the problem in your home rather than trying to fix it.
As far as your doctor is concerned, it's another broken record. Take control of your own damn life instead of whining about the government taking control for your. FIND A NEW DOCTOR, IF YOU THINK THAT YOUR BIRTH CONTROL ISSUES ARE NOT BEING HANDLED PROPERLY. I know it's easier for you to whine and complain on here than it would be to actually DO SOMETHING but just try it for once! What about people who don't choose to be self-employed. People who simply are too sick to work. Where are they suppose to get insurance?

I think Darwin called it "natural selection".

Since everyone here seems to want to attack MY lifestyle, forget about me for once and let me tell you a couple stories from people who do work full time for companies and how insurance controls everything we do in our life. My 22 yr old friend still in college and on her parents insurance was strongly urged by docs to have the breast cancer genetic marker test BUT she can not do that until she graduates and then gets a job with excellent benefits because if the test is positive she will be uninsurable for ever and if she marries and has children she will never qualify for life insurance to protect her family in the event of her death. A 30 yr old unmarried friend had major surgery two years ago, half his intestine removed for colitis. Now when he marries and has children he will also never qualify for life insurance. You tell me to get control of my healthcare but I can not. The insurance company does that for us. It is scary when a doctor orders a test and you are afraid to have it because it may mean you are stuck with the insurance you have and will never be able to switch in order to save money ore even upgrade to better coverage. Again I don't know where you all work but you must be very lucky to be so happy with your health insurance or you don;t mind working all year in order to pay medical premiums and bills because EVERYONE I know whether self employed or working for a large company, is really sick of seeing their hard earned money going out to insurance companies and overpriced docs and hospitals.

I would answer this question but you specifically told me not to address you in any of my posts.

Joe, I will say a little prayer for your friend, and for their loved ones.
