Believe me I hear it all. I hear high school girls thinking having a baby will give them some love for the rest of their lives or how cool it is to walk downtown with a stroller. The I see people in their late 20's living together and only using condoms for birth control which believe me I know are not reliable. They break and then what. I have heard every excuse in the book not to use birth control but in my opinion if you are single or not with the person you intend to spend the rest of your life with then you owe it to yourself and your future to use birth control and believe me it works. 17 years and counting. Knock on wood!!!!

Yeah i've read some things on that. I mean from what i've read, a lot of it goes back to lack of a father figure growing up. Or they think if they have the kid the guy will stay with them forever. But sometimes that isn't the case either. I mean i guess there are so many differant reasons, but my first reaction is just with the technology we have today this sort of thing just should not happen as much as it does. I mean i understand if some of the girls were raised Catholic. But overall you just think it shouldn't happen as much. I mean honestly though, unless your parents talk about BC you aren't going to hear it anywhere else. Maybe one sex ed class in 8th grade.

Apparently some of the girls' mothers really like the idea of the girls having babies, which is so bizarre to me. So maybe they aren't discussing birth control with their daughters in a positive way, either.

pml. I believe you understand my indignant stance about one thing. I am always for the children first in any situation.
Lysol. You were championing a specific person when I referred to people who live together out of wedlock as "paramours". I was generalizing. Your loyalty would be commendable if that person was truely singled out. However, I was using the word in the common way... and not in the way that means "one of the people was married and the other was having an illicit affair with someone else". Shoes should not be worn by individuals if they truely do not fit. I shall never apologize, however, for laughing and rolling on the floor over two women calling each other "wife". Perhaps we could agree to use the word, "partner". I have heard younger generation, married people, refer to their spouse as, "partner", in the last few years. This is a concession of sorts for this NON-MENNONITE [ ] CHRISTIAN who believes living the homosexual lifestyle is a sin. If you read my comments closely of late, I am making a concerted effort to keep my religious beliefs in a different column of thought from discussions on politics...and making an attempt [this is tough] to avoid conflict. This does not mean that I will not be assertive when neccessary or turn into a wimp. And I did mention before that I am not Mennonite. I do not mean to make a big deal about not being Mennonite...it is merely the truth.

Don't know if I were a Mennonite, that I'd admit it!! being Brethren and all, which one do you suppose trumps?
