I love these comments. The city is so safe isn't it. Go stand on South Ann Street or South Duke from midnight to 300am. Ok, now go do the same thing in School Lane Hills or Mondamin farms. Let me know where you feel safer. If you still feel safer in the city you must have a serious misconception of the danger of squirrels. I promise that none of them are crackheads packing heat. I promise.

Wouldn't the "random" part of the equation indicate that the suburbs are no longer a safe haven?

When a pre-meditated crime targets a specific individual, unless you happen to be that individual you are safe and need not worry. But when criminals start targeting whoever happens to be around, then you're no safer than anyone else.

RR is right. Anyone in the suburbs who thinks the police will keep them from harm is just increasing their chances of becoming a victim. You are the first person responsible for your own safety.

Yep. Random.

So rather than another official explanation of the obvious, how about answering the kinds of questions a surbuban population under attack, especially our females, should hear from our paid professional law enforcement experts.

What should a female, alone at night in Manheim Township, do to protect herself?

Taser? Concealed carry handgun? Don't go out at alone? How about free township sponsored self-defense lessons for females?

It's becoming more and more apparent that citizens are responsible for their own protection. Sgt. Rudzinski, how about becoming part of the solution instead of being a simple observer and reporter of the clearly obvious?

suburban population under attack? ha ha ha, that's hilarious. I think I heard on fox today that it was al quaida
