I'm sitting her wondering why this has even been brought up???? Oh! I know why the current board of commissioners has the County in shambles. These three stooges have gotten it to the point where people are beginning to create new ways to run county's or cities, this is amazing to think that people are so dissatisfied with this board that they are now thinking of changing the way county government is selected and possibly adding more commissioners. Wow! It's got to be pretty bad to even think this. Lets tell the commissioners that we know longer want them in office, we have some younger cheaper people who could do there jobs at half the cost and only give them a 30 day severance package and 2 days notice. Now that's something I would vote on. Sounds like a good plan.

It was brought up before, in 1972, but dropped for a lack of interest. Terry Madonna was County Commissioner at the time.

It is obvious to everyone here that you are very angry. Have you ever sat down and actually talked with Dick Shellenberger or Molly Henderson? Have you taken the time to discuss issues one-on-one with them? Have you ever actually listened to their explanations as to why they have made some of their decisions? I have, and I told them specifically how I disagree with them. You might be very surprised what you find.

I am not sure exactly where I stand on the issue; however, I suggest that all those who help draft and actively participate in the potential change (i.e. Tom Baldridge) be barred from holding any new office they create.

My concern is that ONE "strong executive" could gather near dictatorial powers, much like Charlie Smithgall did in his second term. The ONLY way I could consider supporting this plan is if every single individual on this board, especially the "strong executive", is limited to one term of no more than two years. Period. Otherwise, these people become too detached from their constituents, and too interested in their own re-election, to properly serve the people.

I agree that centralized power held too long will gather a dictatorial attitude. Term limits are a great idea that unfortunately is not held in Congress and the Senate (state government too!).

The military spends a sizable amount of money moving people (rotating duty stations) because they understand that same theory. Another form of checks and balances!
