Now from reading the article, i put some blame on the Railroad lawyers, rather than going for the trespassing they seemed to go after these boys personally, which in the eyes of a jury is going to look like david vs goliath. So it was probally pretty easy for that slimeball Roda to play the sympathy card and win.

Yes, I read that part too and found it interesting. The Amtrak lawyers took the scumball route when they only would have had to take the "we are right" route. The judge didn't like that the lawyers called the kids dumb and then turned around and said they should have been smart enough to know the dangers. Now they have to pay 24 million to some morons who broke the law because the lawyers came across looking like the big bad wolf. Sigh. . .

Of course I always thought a judge should base his decisions on law, not how he felt the lawyers "bullied" the poor babies.

Outrageous! Simply Outrageous! How can our young people learn about proper behavior and being responsible citizens if there is no one teaching them or if those who should be teaching them fail in their responsibilities. That Judge should be dismissed for being stupid and irresponsible. I feel sorry for those poor teens that have not been adequately educated and now are being told it is ok to break the law. OUTRAGEOUS!

Part of the problem is the Amtrak lawyers were "from out of town".
