Okay Davey, I'll bite. Perhaps the experience in the SDoL of hiring "outsiders" the last several years speaks to the reason for protest. In all of the conversations that I've heard during this process, they were about hiring yet another outsider with no ties to this community. As far as I know, there has not been an issue when the police have hired from outside of the community. At least I have not heard such. My statement would be that if it were that big of an issue of the local law enforcement, then perhaps their organization should have stood up and said so. In the SDoL situation, administrators, teachers and parents alike stood up. Albeit, many still working are scared to speak out for fear of repurcussiions. And yes, that does happen.
Fela you said what I just could not have put together better. The issue with the Chief of Police differs in the fact that it has not been shown that someone local can do the job better or the same. You promote from within and then go to the others if you can't get your needs met. That's the way it's done. In relationships of all types.
The legacy of outsiders leaves little to be desired so our board 5 have sentenced us to a good 2 to 3 year learning curve and all we are going to hear is "Give him a chance he's new at this. Be patient he needs time to learn more!" Who's going to guide Pedro? Drue? Rut RO! Who's 2nd in line Drue? I will tell you my conspiracy theory later, but for now since the current ASSS has not been outstanding and innovative he needs to go. Which position was it that he applied to and then withdrew his name.
Por favor Sr. Rivera, tan pronto como usted toma posesión del cargo se consigue un Diputado del Superintendente y quita ASSS corriente. No promuévalo, no guárdelo en el payrol. I don't hate the player I hate the game that the board played.
Bienvenido a la familia Rivera. I would love to have a Superintendent as my neighbor. When are they moving in?
