I wonder if it includes cable.

Why would you even have cable if you're poor? You wouldn't have the time or money for TV.

How did this slip by? Was this already approved? Everyone in this area is up in arms about the Traditional Neighborhood Development project (purported as High Density Housing) by Keystone Custom Homes in East Lampeter Twp. This pales in comparison to that by creating even bigger problems for this area.

It's real hard to keep track of what supervisors do in each township. If you blink, the developer has backdoored a 10 to 12 house per acre Fictional TND (i.e. because it's not traditional to any neighborhoods they are trying to build them in)/
Luckily the folks in Hempfield woke up before the builder managed to slip that one in. There it was not only high density, but it went through 9 TND document revisions that the developer paid for, and increase from one commercial big box to 5 with 40 percent commercial.
Look around for the developer who has his name in every township, and tells you to hurry step right and buy now. It's kind of funny that all the really big ads they pay for are in the Philly and Baltimore newpapers. Also check out the Sunday real estate deed section. Look for East Hempfield and the price of those affordable houses he's building. They are usually in the 385000 to 495000 dollar range.
Get them now while they are cheap. Buy Smart.

Real estate will go down and crime will go up in the area, for sure.

Of course, this is LAncaster county the home of SECTION 8 this is advertised every where that subsdized housing is alive and well here, and they all come to get their handout .

No one said that everyone who makes less than $50K is a criminal. There is however a correlation between low-income (and single) households and crime, especially when the residents don't own their homes.

Just take a look at LAncaster city, come to the Garbage Hill area and take a look for yourself what section 8 does for a nighborhood ..........it's not a pretty sight

Since Community Basics (Lancaster City Housing Authority) is a non-profit organization, doesn't that mean they'll be exempt from property taxes? That means I'll probably be paying to send these kids to school. Aren't I nice?

I think these will pay real estate taxes, since they will generate income.

For example, LGH's office buildings are taxable. And F&M's development along Harrisburg Pike, which includes student residences, pays real estate taxes.
