Wow!! What a great thing to do. Serving locally grown produce in her restaurant!! And organic to boot!!!

Great move Senorita!!!

I hope others will follow your example!!!

First Gil Smart's column about buying local, now this. Great news. Keeps the money local too. For an example of how well that works, look no further than the Amish.

Jen has been talking abou this for sometime. I am pleased for her that she has been able to do this. She has worked very hard to make both her restaurant and now, her stand at market a success. She is a great example of the type of young, innovative, dedicated business owner that Lancaster City needs.

The buy fresh buy local idea is great with the exception that it only works about 6-8 months out of the year. Although we are surrounded by wonderful resources where do you think the lettuce and tomato will come from in the winter? In addition some of the local farmers are more expensive than wholesale organic farms in year round produce growing states. I try my best to support local farmers in my business but it is a business and it has to be profitable to work.

greenhouses--Lancaster Farm Fresh has winter harvest, and Colton has greenhouses too. Tom's a great guy, and you can get great stuff from him at Central Market.
Did you know there are only about 4 local producers with stands? Demand more. Too many lunch counters...
