The newest Giant Food Store opened its doors to customers last Wednesday after a serious makeover of the former Redner's Market at 2074 Fruitville Pike.
During a walk-through of the store Tuesday, an enthusiastic Tom Cacciola, store manager, appeared itching to begin everyday business.
At 49,000 square feet, the store is considerably smaller than the Giant store he managed in Leola.
"This store is configured to maximize space," Cacciola said.
Work crews appear to have accomplished that by shifting the direction of the aisles and neatly organizing the bakery, deli, meat and seafood departments to offer a stand-alone feel.
