From the article:

If this is indeed the case, then why didn't Madenspacher sentence this guy for more time? I understand the victim agreed with the plea agreement, but is it worth taking the risk that there will be another victim later?

I'm just shocked they actually put the "sexually violent predator" label on this guy, its so rare. Now, the police have to actually contact his neighbors when he gets out, not just hope they have internet access. The police will actuall knock on their door and talk to them about his crimes. I have a good friend/client that told me if I don't like the mandatory sentencing guidelines for sex crimes, I need to set a meeting with my rep. I know there are a lot of mothers on here that agree with me that there need to be stiffer prison terms. Anyone willing to meet at a public place if I arrange for a Lancaster rep to meet with us? Katie True, a republican, and a legislator is my pick not because of her party but because she is on the Children & Youth Committee. We can assume she has some interest in the welfare of our children.

What makes any sexual predator not violent? Shouldn't it be standard that anytime any sexual predator, violent or not, moves in next door someone should be informed?? The reality is that they'll get out of jail one day or another without anyone knowing.... I'd like to know if my neighbor is a sexual offender violent or not.

I'm tired of seeing people locked up for 10-40 years for crimes that involve selling drugs or some kind of financial crime and then the people that we really need to be protected against like this and Sara Timblin are only getting 4-8.

The problem is the mandatory sentencing requirements for drug related crimes. These requirements take control away from judges. So a kid (10- 25 in my book) caught in possession of recreational drugs will get more time than a person who abuses a child. The whole system is screwed up!
OMG! I just read that the "dog door robber" got more time than this man! So material items are more valuable than children?

That is why we need to meet with someone who can actually DO something about this. See earlier post

I thought that these people are "rehabilitated" when they get out. If that is the case, then why are they still given that label? And, if they are still sexual predators, why are they out??
