A Quarryville man was sentenced to 4 to 8 years in state prison Wednesday for repeatedly sexually assaulting a young teenage girl.
Gary Lee Doubts, 37, of Dawn Street, was also given 5 years consecutive probation by Judge Joseph Madenspacher and ordered to pay $200 in fines.
Doubts had pleaded guilty earlier in Lancaster County Court to rape, attempted rape, statutory sexual assault, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, indecent assault and two counts of corruption of minors.
Prior to his sentencing, Madenspacher heard the results of an evaluation and recommendation by Dr. Robert Stein, who concluded that Doubts is a sexually violent predator.
Stein said that Doubts had more than 100 sexual contacts with the young girl over a two-year period between June 2004 and May 2006.
Madenspacher said while he is sometimes skeptical of such reports, "I think it's incredibly appropriate in this case." There is "clear and convincing evidence" that Doubts is a sexually violent predator, he said.
As such, Doubts must register his whereabouts with the Pennsylvania State Police for the rest of his life, after he gets out of prison, and must have no contact with the victim, Madenspacher said.
Doubts' wife and three small, teary-eyed children sat in the back of the courtroom during the sentencing proceeding.
Assistant District Attorney Karen Mansfield told the judge the victim had approved the plea agreement. Defense attorney Merrill Spahn represented Doubts.
