The rail crossing at Diller Avenue has no blinking lights or gates to block traffic. The only warnings are railroad crossing signs.

What a sad story. I pray for his recovery.

Why can't there be at least blinking lights installed? This isn't the first accident to happen here.

oh geez
Thoughts and prayers for Mr. Zimmerman's speedy recovery.
I question how, if the locomotives blew their whistle, the rider didn't hear them? If there's an issue with how the helmets are designed or some other possible interference, this should be investigated and necessary modifications recommended. Where we cross train tracks, the sound of the whistles carry for miles.

Ummm...Stop. Look. Listen. Live.
Its not hard guys...
Is your life really worth relying on crossing lights and gates? You should still slow down and look anyways when you go over railroad crossings. Does it slow your trip down THAT much?

"Loud pipes save lives"? I don't know, I'm just throwing that out there as a possibility. He was wearing a helmet, which actually makes me suspect he wasn't riding a Harley.

Loud pipes anger neighbors. Loud pipes may increase others awareness of YOU, but distracts from everything else.

Jeesh, I've driven across several RR crossings in New Holland and west of there dozens of times -- I actually didn't know until right now that it's still USED by trains. I never see anyone stop look listen, etc........
