Hmmm....I think registering and insuring the vehicle are not high on her "to do" list. Does anyone else wonder why it took four months for the company to report the vehicle stolen? Or did I read that wrong?

You did not read it wrong -- it could be 4 months or more!

Back in February, Cynthia J. Barnett signed a one-day rental agreement on a car at Enterprise Rent-A-Car on Manheim Pike. Then, police say, she drove off in the vehicle, a 2008 Dodge Avenger.

I have to wonder why a 58 year old woman would do this? Did she have any prior convictions?

As a employee of a rental agency I will say that unfortunately the law is on the side of the criminal. There are some rediculous laws and rules that need to be followed before it can be reported stolen. The vehicle can not be reported the day that it is not returned. Having said that it is not neccessary to wait 4 months.

Well I have to wonder every day why people do what they do! Like the 60 year old man the embezzled money from his church when he was being paid 90,000 per year to be the treasurer. Duh!

The law on the criminal's side? No WAY! They have rights too ya know! You just can't go shooting a guy crawling in your bedroom window at 3:00 a.m. with a machete, you gotta wait till he draws blood and only then can you knock him unconcious. If you kill him, well he may have been confused as to which house he was entering, he thought it was his own house when you cold heartedly killed him. Now pay up.

The County Court of Common Pleas website/database has a 58-year old of the same name .... in County jail as of 6/18/08 (?)

Really??? This lady is most likely in Jail and Lancaster's Finest didn't check there first?!!?!?!! WOW! Could be one reason she hasn't returned the car....have they checked the driveway at her home address?
