Elect competent people and you won't have problems like the Conestoga View scandal. Home rule wouldn't change any of this if we elect five unqualified (or even a majority of 3) Commissioners.

All of you goofs that voted for Pete Shaub and Dick Shellenberger are to blame for the poor leadership we recieved. These guys were NOT qualified for that high of a position, but like lemmings you followed what the GOP told you to do. Voters need to educate themselves about the candidates.....you could just as likley elect 5 goofs as three.....and under the Home Rule Charter as now proposed if 5 goofs get in they will appoint a County Exec that we have NO control over.

Obviously we have no control now. So if we can get a competent administrator, would that not be better then 3 goofs?

Not if someone like Tom Baldridge or S. Dale High controls what they say and do.

Must Lancaster County adopt Home Rule in order to have voter referendums?

Citizens should always have a say on major financial projects that affect them. Situations like Conestoga View and the LCCC should have been on general election ballots.

On Tuesday, the GSC will be convening at the Lancaster County courthouse 5th floor to discuss Sam Mecum's amendments, specifically having seven commissioners from 7 districts. Meeting time 2:00pm.

Thursday, July 10 the Republican Committee of Lancaster County will vote on the Home Rule charter.

Any questions regarding Home Rule from TB'ers??

Is the committee vote for the 'official' Republican stance on home rule?
