A $1,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest of the second robber in this week's fatal shooting in Manheim.
The reward, announced today, comes three days after a business store manager was forced to fire two rounds that struck the first suspect, who died.
The second suspect in the Tuesday morning shooting at the Power Pro Battery business, 210 S. Penn St., remains at large.
Police, in an updated description, say the second suspect is a Hispanic or African-American man of light complexion, 5-foot-7 or 5-foot-8, and of average build.
Both suspects were wearing baseball caps and had their faces covered with handkerchief-type coverings, police have said.
The suspect who was shot and killed was identified as Kevin L. Smith, 19, of Lancaster.
His fatal shooting was ruled as justifiable homicide, as the manager, who was being robbed by the two men when he fired, feared for his life, officials said.
"The wanted suspect, however, had an overall appearance and moved with the agility of an individual consistent in age to Smith," the reward also states.
Manheim Borough Police ask anyone with information is asked to call them at 665-6401, Lancaster County detectives at 299-8100 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-322-1913.
The fatal shooting early Tuesday was just one of several shootings this week in Lancaster County.
There also was a fatal beating and drowning in a backyard pool in Reinholds, in what has been ruled a homicide by the county's district attorney.
And an Ephrata man was charged with shooting his wife late Sunday night in their living room.
Police arrested Rodney F. Smith, 47, and charged him with shooting his wife, Gwendolyn.
Mrs. Smith, 46, suffered severe wounds to her right hand, her midsection and both thighs, and today was listed in fair condition at Lancaster General Hospital.
The shooting happened at the Smiths' residence at 121 N. State St., Apt. 1.
And in another incident with gunfire this week, a businessman faked a heart attack to protect himself from an armed robber in the Manheim area late Wednesday afternoon.
After the gunman fled from an antiques store in Elm with about $1,000, the owner went outside and fired several shots with his own handgun into the air, Penn Township police said.
Penn Township police ask anyone with information about that robbery to contact them at 665-6959.
