Well, good for you and all that wonderful Wal-Fart junk you will be buying. I too live in Manor Township, Wilshire Hills. I can't wait for all the extra traffic, and the flood lights of the parking lot 24/7, and especially all the crime that will occur. Hell, I think I'll enjoy paying more in taxes as the township struggles to cope with the little extras they will need to deal with a store of that size. In case you didn't notice, Sheetz isn't a big box mammoth, small business eating dragon like Wal-Fart...you moron! Yeah, I really look forward to all those great things Wal-Fart will bring to Manor Township. Hey I have a thought, why don't you move over here into Wilshire Hills while the property still has some value.

Sarcasm definately intended!!! People are &%$#! stupid sometimes...can't see the forest through the trees

you seem pretty Teed off about something that you will have no control ove

Did the zoning change ater you moved there? What did you expect to happen in the future?

People, if you don't want a WalMart in your backyard, then be sure that your backyard isn't zoned for it! Jeez!

I thought that zoning regs need to be changed to accomodate Wal-Mart. Isn't that the point of the article ? If the property was already zoned "ok for Wal-Mart", it would have been built 10 years ago.

Then why pray tell, did you move into a commercial area? Your development is withing 1/2 mile in all directions of one of the largest commerical areas in the county!

You live off of RT 462, and in close proximity to RT 741, Centerville Rd, and RT 30. Hardly a quiet area. Take a look around you. It's all retail, industrial, and commercial. Lot's of lights, truck traffic, and noise. Did the zoning change ater you moved there? What did you expect to happen in the future?

People, if you don't want a WalMart in your backyard, then be sure that your backyard isn't zoned for it! Jeez!

.........zoning can change..............

It's very possible that they didn't edit it...that movie just didn't make sense! I saw it in a "sneak preview" the week it came out. The plot was ridiculous, so don't feel like you missed out on anything!

no, it was edited- i forgot that i had bought a "white zombie" cd to replace one that got lost- the little "book" thingie inside was edited, the original was about 6 pages or so with all of the lyrics, and drawings by rob zombie, but it wasn't in the one from walmart. and i had seen "the general's daughter" before, and remember stuff that was missing. i had seen articles before about how they won't sell "men's" magazines, and they do edit their selections of movies. wait, i don't know if walmart itself is doing the editing, but they purchase from a distributor that does. so if i want a movie that has bad language or violence, i'll get it from costco. if they want to be family oriented, that's fine, but i think i can figure out for myself what i do or do not want to see.
why?

The NIMBY's are a very, very, very small minority.

Yeah, and 18th cent Philadelphia Quakers/Friends protesting slavery were once a "very, very, very small minority".

The scariest thing about Wal-Mart, is that they are leading the way downward toward mediocrity, from land use to customer service to product quality. There are a host of good, recent books that explain what Wal-Mart is up to, from shifting costs onto customers (U get to try to assemble it yourself!) to requiring good, US-based manufacturers to build lesser quality goods.

I think it is a corporation run amok since Sam's death, and has just gotten too big for the economic health/well-being of consumers, producers, and even countries.

Yes, other companies may follow similiar practices, but not to the same extent, and I attempt to give Target whatever business I can simply to provide Wal-Mart some local competition (K Mart has left our market.
