They sure do, they actually have skate parks to go to now. None of that existed when I was growing up.

Plus, there were no X-Games and Tony Hawk wasn't a household name. Those things gave legitimacy to the sport rather than the public looking down on them like they were all losers. Listen to me, I'm complaining about "the man" treating the skaters like dirt and I'm the world's biggest skater betty sell out. I am corporate America myself these days. OK, please disregard all my earlier rants.

Agreed. No X Games, but we did have the Swatch Impact Tour. Yeah, not even close. I think the big turning point came after all the Tony Hawk video games.
