Chris Heisey has made the jump to Class AA.
Heisey, a former star at Donegal High School and Messiah College, was promoted last week to the Chattanooga Lookouts, the Cincinnati Reds' team in the Southern League.
Heisey, a center fielder, made his debut for the Lookouts in a doubleheader Wednesday at the Huntsville (Ala.) Stars. After going 0-for-3 as the No. 7 hitter in the first game, Heisey went 2-for-4 in the No. 2 spot in the nightcap.
Through Friday's action, he was hitting .375 (6-for-16) in four games, with one double, one run scored, one RBI and one stolen base.
Heisey, who was drafted by the Reds in the 17th round in 2006, earned his promotion with an all-star season for the Sarasota Reds in the Florida State League, an advanced Class A league.
In 117 games, he hit .287 (125-for-436) with 31 doubles, seven triples, seven homers, 77 runs scored and 51 RBIs. He had 27 stolen bases, and was caught stealing only twice. He had a .381 on-base percentage and .438 slugging percentage.
Heisey, 23, was named to the Southern League's midseason all-star team.
