The Pennsylvania Guild of Craftsmen is opening up space at its offices at 252 N. Prince St. to display and sell items done by some of its members.

The opening reception for the exhibition, The Guilded Tulip, will be held Sept. 5 during the city's monthly First Friday.

About 400 works, including furniture, pottery, jewelry and metalwork will rotate in and out during the exhibition.

The roughly 700-square-foot space, next to Pho Billiards, will be open as a gallery until Oct. 18. After that, the space may revert to being used for workshops or could host other exhibitions, according to Sherrie Boyer, executive director of the Pennsylvania Guild.

Hours: 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.

New city art gallery

Also opening Sept. 5 is the Mark-Finberg Gallery at 104 W. Chestnut St., just behind Metropolis at the corner of Prince and Chestnut streets.

The roughly 700-square-foot gallery will feature the work of artist and gallery co-owner Laura Mark-Finberg, a wildlife artist who describes her recent work as "contemporary realism inspired by nature."

The gallery mostly will have paintings but also will feature sculptures and limited-edition fine art prints.

Hours: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday, Friday and Saturday.

Friendship gallery

The heART of Friendship, an arts program for people with developmental disabilities, recently opened a gallery in Ephrata at 39 E. Main St.

At the gallery, residents of Friendship Community, which assists people with disabilities, will join local artists to display original paintings, jewelry and knitwear.

Hours: 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday.

All-night cafe

Prince Street Cafe, 15 N. Prince St., is now open all night on Friday and Saturday.

The extended hours will keep the coffee shop's doors open continuously from 6:30 a.m. Friday to 3 p.m. Sunday. The full menu is available during the overnight hours.

The cafe began the extended hours Aug. 8 and could continue them indefinitely if there is enough business, one of the owners said.

From Monday through Thursday, the cafe is open from 6:30 a.m. to 11 p.m.
