I have always said that I have a face for radio - Gil - you can steal that line as well!

I guess it's because I am very conscience when I quote to get the right publication -but you'd think they could get it right?

It's called Sunday News. Notice they have Lancaster Sunday News.

Whatever

OT - Howdy RH! I picked up and enjoyed a copy of the Lancaster Post today from that infamous red box on Marietta Avenue. I see it's available in the communities on either side of me so I'll be reading it on a regular basis. Thanks!
And now back to our regularly scheduled programing: The perspective Gil brings to the paper is exciting (dark sarcasm) because it's the same one published by other print media that's featuring double digit layoffs. Don't get me wrong, I'm not for losing a free press, it's just that the work coming out of many news organizations is shamefully subpar and I for one haven't paid to feed at that trough in years. Free might be a different story.

then will you write about how the liberals will get us on the right track? tax and spend...tax and spend. Wasteful spending at that.

"tax and spend liberal" lost it's usefulness in the transition between the boom economy of the Clinton years, and the bust of the George W Bush years. Honestly, it should have stopped being a useful phrase during the Reagan era. "Tax and spend" might be bad, but it's a whole lot better than "Cut taxes and spend like you hadn't". The federal deficit ballooned like it never had before under Reagan's tenure.

Sure, liberals have a penchant for spending on their favorite social program, but conservatives have even worse a penchant for spending on the Military, especially on fancy Military hardware. One bomber pays for a lot of schools. I think the last republican to get it right in this department was Eisenhower. Since the 80's Republicans have cut taxes as a matter principle, whether they can afford to or not. Hint: you can't cut taxes and go to war at the same time!
