A Mount Joy man was fighting for his life Sunday after he was shot multiple times early Saturday in Harrisburg, investigators said.

Aaron W. Robinson, 33, of Tia Circle, was shot about 2:45 a.m. outside a friend's residence in the first block of North 18th Street, investigators said.

Robinson had been sitting and talking with a female friend in her car, which was parked outside the residence. As he stepped out of the car, he was approached by a man who cursed at him, then shot him, investigators said.

The shooter fled. It is not clear whether the shooting was random, or if Robinson knew the shooter. Harrisburg police would not release further details about the incident.

Robinson was in critical condition Sunday at Hershey Medical Center, according to the Harrisburg mayor's office. Doctors found nine wounds in his thigh, groin and buttocks, investigators said. His life is in danger due to severe blood loss, the mayor's office said.

Hospital officials contacted Sunday would not confirm Robinson's admission.

The shooter was described as a black man in his early 20s, about 5 feet, 11 inches tall and between 170 and 180 pounds, according to investigators.

Police believe two vehicles may be tied to the shooting. One was a dark-colored, late-model sport utility vehicle; the other an older, dark-colored sedan.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Harrisburg city police at 255-3131.

It was one of five shootings in Harrisburg over the past week. The fifth was a homicide on Sunday morning. Police don't think Robinson's shooting is related to the others.

That is unfortunate. Worse yet is the electric chair and the years of working closely with lawyers, judges courtrooms and bailiffs. And having people discuss your private business on Talkback in note after note; Look at the Roseboro murder threads, they go on forever.

The other unfortunate matter is that I still live in this county. I want to get out of here badly, but I have to have money saved up and find another job first. I am also unsure about where I want to move. I am considering Virginia, Maryland, New England, or somewhere outside the country. New England sounds nice from what I have heard, but the living expenses are too high. I have been to both Virginia and Maryland and like those states better than Lancaster County, but because of the direction this country is headed living too close to the nation's capital may not be wise. As for moving to another country, I have found that option to be more expensive than moving to another state--and a bigger hassle not to mention.

The last thing I heard is that the State of Pennsylvania does not use the electric chair, they use the gas chamber instead.

Wow Slobert you are a real genius. Anybody that states something like you just did makes you the a-hole.

Thank you for the compliment, Save-The-Land. I have lived in Lancaster County for twelve years, what do you expect? It is good to know that I'm not the only "a-hole" in this area because if that were a true fact, I would feel soooo out of place .

Having worked in a convience store when I was younger, and, with the exception of a few years in College or living elsewhere, I have lived in this county, it might seem that the county is full of assholes. And yes, different areas, you get it different. The one thing I do notice though is that a lot of the "assholes" seem to be more from out of the area, especially New Jersey or such. When I went to college in West Virginia, it was more of the same, the locals, and people from the area were kind, and some of the people from outside the area were real "ladies and gentlemen", if you could say that.

I read the story, and it sounds like someone disagreed with something, if you want to say that.

The only time I have been to New Jersey was to visit Six Flags when I was sixteen, but I have heard that New Jersey natives can be bigger assholes than people in Lancaster County. As for West Virginia, I only met two people whom are from that state. One was an !profanity! and the other was polite and easy to get along.

By the way, I did not actually write "!profanity!" I actually wrote "A-s-s-h-o-l-e," but Talkback automatically censored it when I went back to edit the post.

If anything, there might of been a few on the "slightly rude end" in West Virginia that were natives, but it was mainly most all of them very cool and such.

New Yorkers are actually suprisingly nice, the stereotype of New Yorkers being very rude I think is somewhat unfair. I can tell you though that one that suprised me was Toronto. Was up there for a hockey game back in March, and there were actually quite a few people up there who just acted like geniune a-holes.
