West Lampeter Township police reported that Timothy Boyd, 40, of the 600 block of Saint Joseph Street, drove his vehicle head-on into a utility pole in the 1100 block of Willow Street Pike at 2:15 a.m. Saturday.

Boyd tried to flee the scene on foot before he was caught by police. He was taken to Lancaster General Hospital with an arm injury. Boyd will be charged with driving under the influence, police said.

• Matthew E. Hoffer, 23, of Mount Joy, will be charged with driving while under the influence of intoxicants, state police at Ephrata said. Traveling west on Route 283, Hoffer lost control of his car on the 230 off-ramp, drove off the roadway, 70 yards up an embankment and struck a fence at 5:25 a.m. Thursday, police said. Hoffer was treated at Lancaster General Hospital .

• Larry Lee Miller, 47, of Ephrata, was charged with driving under the influence of intoxicants after being stopped on Route 222 North at Pool Road, West Earl Township for speeding at 7:33 p.m. Friday, state police at Ephrata said.

FOUND:
A mountain bike was found and turned in to Ephrata Police. The owner should call 738-9200 to claim it.

• City police reported that a wallet belonging to a 21-year-old Franklin & Marshall student was recovered Saturday in the 600 block of College Avenue.

THEFT:
State Police at Lancaster reported that a garage in the 100 block of Scheller Road, Providence Township, was broken into and a leaf blower and chainsaw were taken. The theft happened between 6:45 p.m. and 9 p.m. Friday.

PUBLIC DRUNKENNESS:
Rail workers reported a man lying face down on the access road along the Susquehanna River near Chickies Rock as their train passed by at 10:47 p.m. Officers arrived to find Allen Lee Seidel, 37, Columbia, passed out on the road, West Hempfield Police reported. Seidel was charged with public drunkenness, police said.

CRASH:
Phyllis Sanders, 73, Lancaster, was traveling south on Stony Battery Road when she failed to stop for the red light at the Route 30 exit ramp, West Hempfield Police said. Her car struck a car driven by Michelle Reich, 25, Lancaster at 4:24 p.m. Thursday. Sanders was cited for a red-light violation, police said.

CAR THEFT:
A 1998 green Honda was stolen sometime between 11 p.m. Friday and 2 a.m. Saturday from the 300 block of Pearl Street, city police said.

VEHICLE RECOVERED:
City police recovered a stolen vehicle Saturday in the 800 block of South Lime Street and returned it to the owner.

WARRANTS:
Jaime L. French, 30, of the 300 block of Howard Avenue, was arrested on outstanding warrants on the first block of West Chestnut Street at 6:06 a.m. Saturday and later released on bail, city police reported.

• Jerome E. Wiley, 30, of the 1400 block of East King Street, was arrested at 2:38 a.m. Saturday in the 200 block of South Christian Street on a violation of the Uniform Firearms Act warrant from Philadelphia, city police reported. Wiley was taken to Lancaster County Prison.

• City police reported James E. Bell, 29, of the 2600 block of Northfield Drive, East Petersburg, was stopped in his vehicle at 1:01 a.m. Saturday in the first block of North Broad street on a weapons call and was arrested on three outstanding summary warrants.

• William T. Dickson, 27, of the 500 block of Shippen Street, was taken to the police station to sign for warrants after he was stopped for a traffic violation in the 200 block of East Walnut Street at 12:39 a.m. Saturday, city police said. Dickson was then released.

VANDALISM:
Someone broke a rear screen door at a home in the 100 block of Reo Avenue between 2 and 5 a.m. Saturday, city police said. The estimated damage is $50. Police are investigating the incident.

PUBLIC DRUNKENNESS:
Larry E. Evans, 63, of the 200 block of Ross Street, was cited for public drunkenness after causing a disturbance in front of a neighboring home at 3:20 a.m. Saturday, city police said.

• Lloyd L. Sumpman, 41, of the 2900 block of Harrisburg Pike, Landisville, was arrested in the 300 block of Fairview Avenue for public drunkenness and indecent exposure after being observed with his pants around his ankles, city police said.

SIMPLE ASSAULT:
Edward J. Walker, 28, of the 500 block of Plum Street, was arrested for simple assault at 2:07 a.m. Saturday after allegedly striking someone in the face, city police said.

PFA VIOLATION:
A 34-year-old man violated a protection from abuse order when he got into a verbal argument with his ex-girlfriend and grabbed her right arm at her home in the 500 block of Shippen Street, city police said. Police did not identify the man. A warrant has been issued for his arrest.
