A registered sex offender has been taken into custody after failing to provide police with a current address, police said.

An arrest warrant was issued for William Nelson Schickel, 53, whose last known residence was in the 2800 block of Scenic Drive in East Hempfield Township, after police determined Schickel no longer was at that address.

Schickel had failed to provide a current address to Pennsylvania State Police as required by Megan's Law, according to a news release from East Hempfield police.

He was apprehended by Lancaster police Tuesday evening and is being held in Lancaster County Prison.

He pleaded guilty in 1993 to involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, indecent assault, indecent exposure and corruption of minors, all involving a 10-year-old girl, according to newspaper records.

He was sentenced to 5 to 15 years in state prison and was ordered to undergo treatment.

According to the state police Megan's Law registry, Schickel's address was verified in June, when he said he was working in Bowmansville. Police said he failed to update his address "as he is required to do within 48 hours of a change."

That didn't take long, when you provided a physical description, a picture, his recent address, and even a word about his last known vehicle.

Now, where was he found? There may be more victims. Perhaps you could tell those of us who were just living next door? Whoever that may have been.

Let me guess, he was living with folks who "had no idea". And because of that, revealing their address to those who might show scorn, would be a bad thing, right?

How about an article on here about the guy living on Ross St.? I guess the robot missed that one.
