A Lititz man was arrested early Saturday morning after he waved a hammer and threatened other patrons outside a tavern, police said.
Christopher Scott Akers, 36, of 107 S. Broad St., was charged with simple assault and public drunkenness, police said, after he allegedly tried to start a fight inside the Parkview Hotel, 25 N. Broad St., around 12:30 a.m.
Akers left the bar and retrieved a hammer from his vehicle in the parking lot, according to Officer Jared Hahn, and then tried to go back inside the tavern.
Several other patrons stopped Akers outside the tavern, but were in fear for their safety while he was wielding the hammer at them.
In a separate incident, Lititz police said they were called to the Warwick High School football game on Friday evening, where they cited several teenagers for underage drinking.
Police said someone yelled obscenities during the national anthem, and that drew attention to the youths.
Nathan Robert Hackman, 18, of Rolling Hill Drive, Lititz, and several juveniles were cited for underage drinking, police said.
