The preferred spelling for that vegetable is "Jicama." (Or at least, that's how the majority of cookbooks and produce departments spell it- not sure where LNP is spell checking from.) It's mighty tasty with a slightly salsa-flavored ranch dressing, or in salads.

I think this is great to expose our children to such a variety of foods....but not once- but twice does the author of this article misspell JICAMA....whoops! I almost misspelled misspell...... someone/thing should have caught this. Oh, and no- I don't have anything better to do right now......
