Well, I'm no hunter but I know what I have seen. Go down Rt. 30 towards Downingtown, there is dead dear all over the place. Drive out Rt. 272 south of Lancaster and they're all over the place after dark. I was out in West. Pa. a couple of weeks ago. There were so many deer along Rt. 80 (after dark) that we slowed down, fearful of one running out in front of us. Then there is the Pa. turnpike. There so many deer grazing along side the road between Morgantown and Philly and they don't even wait until dark, they are always out there. Saw a coyote along there a couple of weeks ago too. Guess he was looking for supper. Oh yeah, and down near Malvern there are so many deer they run thru peoples backyards and in and out of thier horse pastures. Maybe the deer are smart enough to go live where they can't be shot? Maybe there is nothing wrong with Pa. Game Commission, maybe its the sportsman's asso. that needs to change with the times.

Declining does? Have you been out to hunt this year or are you just quoting USP? Ive been out 2-3 a week since begining of archery season and I could have killed a doe just about every time. Bucks on the other hand have eluded me. Does arent declining they are just being hunted down to the numbers they should be at.

THEY, the pgc, keep telling us up here in Upper Dauphin and Schuykill counties that we don't see cougars either. But of course they never reintroduced bear into our area either. THEY keep saying there aren't any resident cougars in the state. I guess we are all deaf dumb and blind like they are.

I conversed with a guy the other week who used to live in the Slate Run area of PA and he said on two seperate occasions they saw either cougers or mountain lions. One of these days two hunters will come into Harrisburg carrying one on a pole.
