This story is simply amazing... How can an individual willing speed through a stop sign not once, not twice, but over twenty times, kill a person in the process and receive a slap on the wrist? I just don't understand all of the "he was an honor student, yadda, yadda, yadda" BS. If was that smart then he should have realized the ramifications of running a stop sign.

It's great that the victim's family has forgiven him, but this sentence clearly doesn't fit the crime. I'm sure his book smarts would do wonders in prison helping to educate the other prisoners.

This is a case of negligence pure and simple. This sentence is a mockery of the 'justice' system!

the hoover family must have some strength of character that is superhuman to forgive this young man and to ask the judge for leniency.
i marvel at their faith.

I agree. I hope the grace and mercy extended to this young man inspire him to live the best life he can.

To many senile judges sitting on the benches.
