how many homeless "people" have you helped ?

I have posted this on other threads -- why do we have to CHOOSE between people and animals? We can do BOTH.

And I have to be honest, while I hate the suffering of the wounded birds, I am MUCH MORE CONCERNED with what this teaches the children twisting the heads off pigeons and laughing about it and being praised for it, and for all the children who watch this meaningless cruelty.

Many sociopathic killers, like Jeffrey Dalmer, got their start killing and torturing animals, including pets. We need to be teaching our children the stewardship of the earth and the creatures God created.

I agree, we don't have to choose between the two, but people who have no grounding on which to place their biocentric arguments always try to connect dots that aren't there. They can't - or refuse to - see the big picture.

Dear Senator Folmer,
Please view the attached article concerning the bill for pigeon shoots. It was in this past Sunday's paper in Lancaster. Shortly we will be starting a new legislative year with much unfinished business. This bill is one of them. Will you give us your support to help end one of PA's biggest embarrasments? Last year you held a meeting with a sportsmen's group to make your decision. This year try talking to everyone and she how much support these shoots have.

Best regards,
Dear Ms.

Thank you for your continued interest in banning pigeon shoots.

Senator Folmer will be looking at a variety of legislative initiatives relating to this important issue as the 2009 – 2010 Session of the General Assembly gets underway in January.

In the interim, thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts with Senator Folmer.

Marie Tribioli

Office of Senator Mike Folmer

Just received the following from HSUS, Rep Creighton I can't thank you enough.

Let's Lay the Groundwork for the 2009 Bill to Stop Pigeon Shoots

With the recent end of the 2008 Pennsylvania legislative session, it’s a perfect time to take stock and thank those legislators who have been true friends of the animals. As we move forward into the 2009 session, we are preparing to fight to end pigeon shoots in Pennsylvania. We’re hearing that opponents of legislation to ban pigeon shoots are preparing too, so it is critical to

We have been busy gaining support for legislation to ban the killing of animals launched for trap shoots or tied in place for block shoots, and effectively stop pigeon shoots and events where live turkeys are tied to bales of hay and shot with arrows. And thanks to the help of dedicated advocates like you, we have an impressive line-up, but we need to retain all of our supporters as our opponents try to chip away at our efforts.

Your state representative, Thomas Creighton, has committed to support legislation to ban pigeon shoots in 2009.
