As more details come out in this case, I can't help but think the DA's office got it wrong here. Woomer may have had opportunity, but there has been no evidence presented, other than the conjecture of investigators, linking her to the means (morhine, syringe, pills etc.). The DA has not even hinted about the motive here either.

The statement in this article about Woomer's own words being incriminating bothers the heck out of me as well. How many times have you come home from work complaining about not feeling well? Have you ever killed anyone? Who else reading this post needs money, and maybe works a second job to get it?

Now the parents are another issue. The first thing that I thought when I heard about this case is that the parents did it. Even if this is a mercy killing, who among the people in that house had more motive? Heck, I'd go out on a limb and say the parents had just as much opportunity to commit the act as Woomer here, plus there is a much better case for premeditation when considering the parents as suspects.

I just find it so surprising that such a poor case is being allowed to go forward by the DA.

Very rarely does anyone deserve to die. The death of this child is tragic, as it was caused by someone. The potential for further tragedy exists should we rush to judge in this case.

If the child was suffering and in extremely excruciating pain, maybe it was mercy related... or maybe she was trying to help him to ease the pain, but gave him too much due to his small size and already ailing condition... only she knows the truth. Maybe the family does too.

If it was intentional, I think it was mercy related... and if it was unintentional, then not sure what a just punishment would be.

I feel bad for everyone involved, but I really doubt it was mal-intent. Should be interesting to follow.
