Hammer's right. Our legislators are idiots who follow money. If they don't hear us costing them money (and an earache) nothing will hapen.
Wouldn't that make their milk taste funny? Just wondering.
Gelatin. Cows are only one source, with horses being another. Gelatin is used in LOTS of stuff.

I wonder how many vegetarians and PETA folks unknowingly eat products containing gelatin. Not a snide remark, just a strange question that came into my head.
That's a good one.

And this large flux of cash will go to what exactly? Are they going to build a giant methane machine that takes the methane out of the air?

My new business proposal: Methane reclamation from dairy farms, to use for heating of the farm! Now how to create the bubble that will be used to trap the harmful air?????
Some farms are doing it and it works well.

I can think of no other tax idea as stupid as this one. Whoever proposed this tax should be tied down under a cow for a week and let the cow crap on them. Idiot.

#1: The Bush administration proposes these regulations.
#2: The EPA regulation proposal is preliminary: Asking for business input.
#3: The DEP sees an opportunity for farms to profit from global warming.

Regarding #1: Check the calendar.

Regarding #2: "American Farm Bureau Federation Director of Regulatory Relations Rick Krause said the notice, a 200-page document that is part of the Federal Register, is not a specific regulatory proposal. Rather, it is the EPA's way of asking groups and individuals to weigh in on the pitfalls and benefits of regulating the gases."

Regarding #3: "DEP is interested in developing ways for farmers to make money through good environmental practices, Hanger said. The agency has been trying to position Pennsylvania at the forefront in alternative energy, such as methane digesters to produce electricity and the biofuel industry."

QUIT BITCHING PA. FARMERS: GET UP TO SPEED!!!!
YOU SOUND LIKE DETROIT!!!

As always, try to remember this nonsense when you go to vote. Remember this when you actually defend these same jerks against any challenger by citing their 'experience'. Just a thought. lol
