You all ought to give back all the money you all took and take for perks and so on, Repubs. and Demos. alike. Don't just start throwing all these demands of one party, but rather all parties give it back.

QUOTE (Lancaster Online @ Dec 3 2008, 10:58 AM)
Republican House members from Lancaster County said they are willing to consider paying back the raise this year as long as Democrats agree to also consider scrapping per diems, car leases and secretive legislative grant accounts, known as "walking around money," totaling several hundreds of millions of dollars.

Does this mean the Republican legislators will pay back nothing unless the Democrats give up ALL of this? Will the Republicans keep their own per diems, leased cars, and WAMs?

What is wrong with this picture?

It was Katie True who commented on the car leases (which alone is worth three times the COLA) cell phones and other perks---which, by the way, she has never taken.

As for returning the raises--Senator Mike Folmer has done that ince he was elected.

The Republican reformers (of which True and Folmer are leaders) can't "give back" what they have never taken.

I didn't know that. Hurray for them.

What about the rest of the Republican State Legislature contingent?

I have to agree with what Mikerob said:

Have been emailing Katie True as well as Folmer on our bill. No reply from Katie True after 5 emails. Folmer to his credit has replied several times. True has been quoted as saying she is a member of the NRA. I've stated before I have no problem with someone being an NRA member but when your voting on bills that involve gun laws I prefer someone that is not associated with them and not influenced by their lobbyist.
