CELEBRITY NEWS AND NOTES
• In an unsubstantiated report, legendary gossip purveyor the National Enquirer reports that John Mayer has finally agreed to Jennifer Aniston's "marriage demands" and is ready to pop the question.
The couple began dating early last year and broke up briefly in August. That was when Jen reportedly gave John an ultimatum: She'd go back to him only if marriage were a live option.
The Enquirer says Jen plans the wedding of her dreams — the wedding she didn't have with her ex, Brad Pitt: a traditional Greek Orthodox wedding. An anon source tells the Enquirer, "Nothing would make Jen happier than to have her own Big Fat Greek Wedding — and John is totally on board." Neither party has responded to the report.
• Sean "Diddy" Combs is angry over reports that he was passed over for tickets to Barack Obama's Jan. 20 inauguration — or Obamapalooza, as TMZ calls it — calling the reports "ridiculous and untrue." Diddy, after all, is A Very Important Man, as he never tires of telling the world.
His rep tells TMZ that Obama's people offered Diddy the tix "because of his work on the campaign trail. ... He never asked for tickets, and he was never asked to pay for them."
Says Diddy: "I'll see y'all at the inauguration."
• A collection of songs nominated for the 2009 Grammy Awards will go on sale Jan. 27, to hype the Feb. 8 awards show.
The 20-track "2009 Grammy Nominees CD" features tunes from numerous competition categories, including Coldplay's "Viva La Vida," Sara Bareilles' "Love Song," Lil' Wayne's "Got Money," M.I.A.'s "Paper Planes" and Jazmine Sullivan's "Need U Bad." A portion of proceeds will benefit the MusiCares Foundation and the Grammy Foundation.
• You can't keep a good shape-shifter down. Taylor Lautner could reprise his role as Jacob Black in the Twilight sequel "New Moon," Entertainment Weekly reports.
Summit Entertainment is expected to announce its decision as early as this week for the next film based on Stephenie Meyer's vampire series. A decision that will make many Twilight fans — as well as Taylor, 16 — very happy.
