Saw five deer in the Lancaster train yard under the Dillerville Rd. bridge. They were probably getting a midnight snack from the grain that spills out of the railcars.

There ARE a lot of deer @ Muddy Run. I've hiked there & had deer pretty close to me. But they are sort of fenced in....and I 've seen feeding vats (vats of carrot/sweet nectar w/walled covered structures there where the handicapped hunters certain times of years get better shots at the deer. (cheating in my oppinion. With the amt of deer here it would even seem clearly unnecessary. Like ants living in a candy factory being supplied with more sugar. ) This certainly helps the deer multiply. My daughters and I hiked there a few times and couldn't believe when we saw the 'marked' vats. We were like 'no wonder there are so many deer'. And w/the fences up its like prime canned hunting ground.
I don't do a lot of hiking there anymore because I know too many people who have battled lyme disease. But dang. No surprise.
