When I WAS drinking, it was uncontrollable...it's hard to understand unless you've been there.
Ugh, I just threw up in my mouth a little bit. Your statement made me sick. Using your logic, I also can't understand the guy who murders with a gun because he is high on PCP and uncontrollable. It's called personal responsibiltiy. Drink and drive, you think you are more important that all the other sober drivers on the road.

Hmmm .... Personaly, I think she should have gotten 25 to life.
That would be fitting and a stern warning to anyone who wishes to conduct themselves in a like manner!
Drunk driving is one crime that never has to happen.

Robotspyder gets it and his post is dead on.

Whatever the offense, homicide or just plain DUI, lives are at stake, including the lives of those who are behind the wheel. No lives can be valued over another, State Trooper over troubled youngsters. Life is precious and those who take it away from someone, even if by sheer stupidity, should suffer the consequences, but in God's ways, should be consoled and forgiven by the community. It is evil to cast a side two lives at the price of one. Think of how troubled these individuals souls are, think of how troubled the families are that lost a loved one...no matter what there needs to be some balance, some reassurance that love will prevail no matter how painful it is. I lost someone to a DUI but I will not hate the one who took their life away. I'd rather they learn their lesson and teach their story to the masses.

Thank you, Jwho. You said what I was trying to say, so much better!

I get tired of hearing lawyers use the excuse that the person action are the result of their poor childhood. Rigts right and wrong wrong the person is a grown adult she should of known better. The judge should of given an even harsher sentence.

i've heard the family speak. so tragic. so sad. to listen to them. to hear the stories of his life. It was so sad. There wasn't a dry eye in the room. I don't feel sorry for her. I don't feel sorry for people who drink and drive. It is such a selfish crime. And then put your kid in the car?? What were you doing at Chuck E. Cheese that drunk??? I know my CEC doesn't serve alcohol.

I am so sorry for your loss in that tragic way. I commend you on your ability to not let anger destroy you. I wish you all the best, you sure sound like the type of person that deserves it.
