I agree with you, and no doubt his plan makes sense with the cars, it's just was now reallllly the time to do it with so many other issues on the board?

Yes. Lancaster City made a major bond issue, IIRC it was less than two years ago, to build two new water plants (as required by Federal guidelines). Several million dollars additional dollars were borrowed and set aside for capital expenditures, items which have a useful life of more than a few years. Money for these cars came out of the capital fund, not general tax revenues.

FYI, there is also money set aside for a new City Hall, something around four or five million.

That might be a good use for the convention center after it goes under next year!

They will not allow it to go under. The public will be repeatedly force-fed a line that says how "successful" the convention center really is (no matter how much money it loses), all it needs is a few more taxpayer dollars to make it even more "successful".

I predict the hotel tax will be raised to the maximum allowed by State law within a few years, possibly within the next year.

Not hardly. I know it is hard for you to believe, but some of us apply ourselves a little and are able to earn more then you. Shocking, isn't it?
What's next Hoss? Should we whip out our members and get in a fight over length next? That would be right on par with the rest of your sophmoric rants.

1 you disrespected me first, you have an opinion,I have an opinion, everyone has their own opinions. thats what makes us different. But it is hard to have faith or trust in an entity that is constantly gouging into our wallets and savings through higher taxes etc. Then to see them get caught with their hands in the cookie jar stealing, and nothing is honestly done about it. they don't go to jail. I know people in jail for less than what half these crooks have done. is that fair? It's like the boy that cried wolf, we have heard all the crap these politicians have forced down our throats for years while they stole our money. so yes i question every move they make and do they deserve our trust? hell no!!! I am educated, got a well paying job, and pay taxes. so therefore i am entitled to an opinion. I know there are funds set up for these projects, thats cool, but while we have homeless on the streets, families who are struggling to feed their kids etc. No i don't feel like cars and convention centers, and trollies should be our concerns. Get stable first, take care of the people that have paid your salaries when they are in times of crisis. once that is done then expand and make lancaster the big beautiful place you want it to be. if this country was ran like a real buisness, every penny accounted for, everyone held liable for their actions, think about how much better off we would be as a country. we got crime on the streets and we got just as much crime in local, state, and federal government. they just aren't as easy to catch, money is power, power is protection, and they are the ones controlling us. sometime it would be nice to be ignorant or uneducated, because at least then we would not realize how bad we really get screwed.

Well worth repeating. Thank you VERY much!
