Here here! I am in total agreement. When I grew up, there was no one I didn't want to upset more than my parents. Luckily for me, the same semi-fear/respect I had for my father my kids have for me. I usually have to do no more than look at them and I get everything laid-out that they did wrong. There is a difference between disciplining and abusing your child, and I imagine we all know the line that separates.

Oh no, I still remember "The Look" from my father! I'm 33 and I believe if he were still alive today and gave me "The Look" I'd go immediately to my room. Do not pass go, Do not collect $200! LOL

I agree totally, there is a big difference between disciplining and abusing. I, for the most part, am not a spanker. I have spanked my kids, don't get me wrong. Sometimes they leave you no option, but I honestly can't remember the last time we had that happen in our home. I think it's more effective to take things they enjoy away as punishment.

One of my boys would send himself to his room! LOL He would know he did something wrong, and before I could find out what it was, I'd find him in his room and know something was up! Gotta love a kid that does the work for you!

Best post on the board this year, as far as I am concerned. Thanks, MOT.
For those of us that have done nothing wrong, throw the first stone. I can't throw anything.

Thanks for the kind words GP. Glad I'm not alone on this.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion good or bad. What my daughter did was wrong but, I can tell you this... That article is not 100% accurate. Welcome to reporting the news...

Hence the aforementioned need to "fill in the blanks" by the members of this forum. Tread carefully, my friend - a day doesn't go by that articles are posted that are filled with inaccuracies and misreported information. From your posts, however, you seem to be confirming that your daughter was, in fact, responsible for what she is accused of. If that's the case, do you really think it's wise to come on a public forum and readily admit her involvement? Don't think for a second that the DA's office would hesitate to read this forum and subpoena someone who they suspect has knowledge of a crime in the process of being prosecuted. For what it's worth...

WOW! you are COMPLETELY OUT OF LINE with that comment scumchaser! you don't know this girl at all or her family!!! Obviously someone as narrow minded as you wouldn't be able to see the possibility that this girl was a nice girl and somehow got lost trying to fit in - and obviously with the wrong crowd. This by no means excuses her involvement or her actions, but where do you get off with your comments??

Let me guess; drugs were involved? A little 16 year old thinks it's a great idea to be a gangsta and wants to hang out with hoodlums and drug pushers. Where were her parents when this was happening? Do you think giving her a cell phone will allow you to keep track of her? Ever check those texts she's sending? If you did you might learn something about your kid. Mommy and Daddy were clueless, as usual.

"Precious" is on the path to a state sponsored education in license plate making. Congrats, honey! One less POS on the streets.
